1. Who We Are

LittleStory is an AI storytelling app for families. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. For the purposes of data protection law, the service is operated by the LittleStory team.

2. Information We Collect

To provide personalized stories, we collect the following:

• Account Information: Your email address, obtained through Google Sign-In. LittleStory uses Google authentication, so you do not set or store a password — your account is secured by your Google login.
• Child Profiles: The name and gender you provide for each child, and an optional age or birth date, so stories can be personalized.
• Stories & Generated Content: The story text, illustrations, and audio narrations created by our AI for your account.
• Voice Data: If you use the Voice Clone feature, you provide a short voice sample. We process it to create a synthetic voice model so stories can be read in a parent's voice. The sample and resulting audio may be stored to enable playback.
• Moment Media: Photos and voice notes you choose to capture in the Moments feature are uploaded so we can generate illustrations or transcripts and display them in your library.
• Device & Usage Data: Basic information such as device type and app interaction, used only to operate and improve the service. We do not use this for advertising.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• Precise Location: We do not collect or track your device's location.
• Contacts or Address Book: We never access your contacts.
• Payment Data: We do not process or store payment information.
• Direct Input from Children: The app is designed for parents and guardians to use; we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the LittleStory service.
• Generate personalized, age-appropriate bedtime stories with AI.
• Create illustrations and natural-sounding audio narrations, including your cloned voice when enabled.
• Let you capture, organize, and revisit your family's Moments.
• Keep the service secure and improve its quality. We do not send marketing emails.

5. AI Processing & Third-Party Providers

LittleStory uses trusted third-party AI services to power generation. We share only the minimum data needed for each task:

• Story text: Sent to an LLM provider (e.g., DeepSeek) to write the story.
• Voice & Audio: Processed by a speech provider (e.g., MiMo) for voice cloning and text-to-speech.
• Illustrations: Generated by an image provider (e.g., SiliconFlow).
• Sign-in: Optional Google sign-in uses Google's authentication service.

We do not sell personal information to these providers, and they are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

LittleStory is built for parents and guardians, not for direct use by children. We follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable rules such as the GDPR's provisions for children:

• All account and profile data is entered by a parent or guardian.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
• Parents can review, export, and delete any content at any time.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure and protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We apply industry-standard safeguards, regular access controls, and monitoring to keep your family's information safe.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the vetted service providers described above, or when required by law or to protect our legal rights and the safety of our users.

9. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you and your children.
• Request export of your data.
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time.
• Opt out of any non-essential processing.

When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days.

10. International Data Transfers

Because our AI providers operate globally, your information may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect transferred data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
